NoLIta: I’m Down with ICP

NoLIta: I’m Down with ICP

NoLIta: I’m Down with ICP 1000 750 chachacha

When I first lived in NoLIta, there wasn’t a lot of culture to be had. These days there are so many things to do it makes my head and heart explode. One spot I love is the International Center of Photography museum on Bowery, where I go for work and play. Lots of interesting shows in a cool space. A perfect Mother’s Day excursion with or without the kids. Current stellar exhibits: “For Freedoms: Where Do We Go From Here?” and “Your Mirror: Portraits From the ICP Collection.” Bonus: Kids 14 and under are free! And the ICP School in Midtown offers all sorts of photography classes for adults and teens. First, eat a quick lunch at the Whole Foods food court, then hit ICP, but save room for dessert at Rice to Riches for a post-cultural day sweet treat. I don’t even like rice pudding and I love this shop. The fact that it had a cameo on “Girls” did not sway me. Promise. There are flavors aplenty. My cousin loves Coast to Coast Cheesecake but I’m such a boring purist – I take mine regular and straight up. Ok sometimes I go crazy and get some toasted coconut on top. The nice playground across the street can help round out this pretty fun day.  ICP Museum, 250 Bowery; Rice to Riches, 37 Spring St; Whole Foods, 95 E Houston St
